Commissioned by INTEGRATE UK, 'Smile More' is a short film exploring the impact of racism in schools. The story follows Noah, a young black boxer on the receiving end of racist abuse from his fellow students. Feeling like nobody is in his corner, Noah eventually makes a stand.
Starring Modou Bouye, Louis Emerick & Tom Pegler.
The project was written and developed by young people with something to say, who went on to star in the film too!
Directed by Paul Holbrook and Produced by Alison Hargreaves, Over a series of 40 workshops with 160 students in 4 Bristol schools, our young activists developed the film's storyline and script based on their personal experiences. They hope to raise awareness and break these cycles of abuse. 'Smile More' will be an educational resource for students and teachers that encourages conversations around racism in our schools.
